A select few (har) users had a knack for acting as legal-threat lightning rods for whichever poor bastard was named on the WHOIS / hosting bills. Mostly for exposing malware vendors in the capacity of negative comments, warnings and removal instructions (they didn't like that!), but occasionally for posting business records and the home addresses of the CEOs, etc. (they REALLY didn't like that). The infamous "Dozier Internet Law" made an appearance as well.
